December 29, 1944

My dearest Wife,

Well honey the way things are shaping up around here I don't think we'll be here two weeks. This unit is moving to Plattsburg, N.Y. near Lake Placid in some such place in Northern N.Y. as far as I know now. A few fellows will remain here and some go to other Convalescent hospitals over the states. As soon as I find out anything for sure I will give you a ring and let you know.

Darling I got some more copies of our marriage certificates being made and will pick them up Monday at which time I will get the allotment fixed up. I canceled my war bond as if we have some left over each month we can put it in our checking account.

Gee. There was an apartment advertised in the paper tonite for $40 which isn't too bad but since things are the way they are I won't even think about it.

I got in bed around 2:30 AM this morning so I didn't get much sleep. So I decided to go to bed as soon as I dropped you a few lines rather then go to the G.I. party the Detachment is putting on. Now if you could have been here it would be different as I'd gone even if I'm a bit tired darling.

They closed my ward so I'm doing detail work for Medical supply. This PM we moved wooden lockers back to the Quarter Master and I'll probably be doing work like that so long as we stay here as they only have about seventy patients all told.

Gee! Sweetheart it just doesn't seem possible that you are so far away from here. It just doesn't seem right that I can't hop in a car and see you or that you are not with me. Golly we certainly had a lot of fun and I'm certainly look[ing] forward to having you with me real soon.

Gee I certainly had a lot of Xmas cards waiting for me Kathleen from here there and everywhere. One very nice one from Lewis Vernon whom runs the elevator in Pauline.

Honey I sent a Anniversary card to the folks an regard it Sgt. and Mrs. M.W. I hope that is okay. Gee! It is still all very strange but it certainly is wonderful and wouldn't have it any other way. Gee I don't even know whether I even expressed my thanks to your folks for all the wonderful things they did for us. All this reminds me I must try and see Rev. B.A. Roger tomorrow eve if it can be arranged.

Gee my darling I do love you ever so much. Oh! I'll certainly be in the mood for love when we get together and how. I'm very sleep my love so perhaps I better wish you pleasant dreams and ever so much love, till we meet darling

Your devoted Husband
Milan
