Kathleen dearest,
Honey I'm leaving for Plattsburg tomorrow and will get there Saturday evening. All the phones were busy this evening and then I couldn't get through so honey I'm going to pack everything and then if I have some time I'll try again. Darling I got your letter today which sort of gave me the go ahead signal so I'll go to town as soon as I possibly can and try and find a nice apartment up there and call you and let you know what we'll need. Dearest I sure hope I can get a hold of you tonite and let you know for you could get your transfer started and be on your way a lot faster. My name was added to the original list so that's why I didn't know yesterday.
Well darling I'll try and get as nice a place as I can and as you say honey we can always move if we don't like it. Yes. If I have you, is what matters my love. Nice things are okay honey but as far as I'm concerned it is much deeper than that. Dearest my love for you is more than just skin deep. Of course I want you to look attractive and dressed neat but honey you don't need anything fussy though. It would be a shame to drag along any more stuff than you absolutely have to. I also would rather save it for the home we shall have back in Topeka or there abouts one of these days. Darling I hope I've answered your question.
Yes, I remember Ed Cox he graduated in "35" if I remember right. I went to school a few years with him I know. That would put him in Jack Lee's class.
I was told I couldn't get an allotment for Dec so January will be the first one. From what they told me we would have had to been married earlier in the month in order to get one in Dec. This check will not arrive until some time in January. Dearest I can always put money in our savings account at home and if we should ever need it we can draw it out but these war bonds will be hard to cash after the way in my way of thinking so I just figure I have enough of them in the bank already. Darling I can't help but feel we could live on my salary and the allotment if we had to easily. I can't see why you shouldn't be able to find some work to help out. Being with one another is the main thing darling. All the money in the world won't bring happiness.
The china certainly sounds okay to me as does the crystal. Well in case I get where they have either pattern and they have them I'll take a peek but sort of sounds doubtful if they'll have much up there in that line but one never knows "eh".
Honey coming home didn't effect my job in the least for they would have closed my ward anyway. No doubt I'm being sent ahead first to set a ward up there in Plattsburg Barracks. So darling in my way of thinking I'll all set to stay up there. Well my love will just have to make the best of it up there. It will be cold but I don't think we'll mind it for it won't change from day to day.
Sure honey I'd like to send some announcements to the boys along with my letters. Of course you let me know whom you sent some to if you send some to my relatives.
Mrs. Spangler was my teacher in grade school. Mrs. Bass is my cousin and a sister of Francis Hartzel's husband she is a Krasney now you know I hope I've made myself clear.
Well honey neither one of us will get much sleep for the first few nites we are together for gee it will be wonderful to have you with me and I don't mean perhaps. Darling I do love you ever so much as I certainly hope everything does work out so we can be together before very long. Honey you certainly have made me one happy man and darling I'm going to do my best to make you happy too. So my loved one I'll be looking for you in Plattsburg N.Y. before very long.
Loads of love and kisses too Darling
Your loving husband
Milan
P.S. Got insurance policy on the ring today. Ever so much love honey and pleasant dreams to you "Good nite".
