Milan dear,
I have a few minutes before its time to go home. I can't help wondering if I'm lucky enough to get a letter today- if not heck it won't be until Tuesday evening. Well it's just one of those things with two holidays together it was nice last week, but I see no advantages for we work New Year day. How about you? Do you work?
I can't help wondering if you got back without standing a lot of the time and two whether things look favorable there or else where. How about have you gotten caught up on your sleep? You probably were in no shape to report to work Friday morning or were you. I did a pretty good job of not letting you have too much sleep the past two weeks. But it was the most wonderful two weeks I've ever spent and to realize it is only the beginning of the most wonderful time and life with the most wonderful person in all the whole world- you.
I have talked with T. Mayo today it seems a transfer will be most possible. It must go through the Employment Office on eighth street. It just happened I got to talk to that man who was out here- now my present procedure is to get a transfer blank from the 8th St. fill out and send it. I guess they write down to Nashville and get me a job. I am not sure [about] the last procedure but I won't send in the filled in transfer blanks until I hear from you and what you want me to do- must go home now until later
Milan, darling that was the sweetest letter from you written in St. Louis. I know you must be dead, I have been. But I can hardly wait for the time to come to be with you. Everything happened so quick I guess I was taking for Granddad your present- now that you are gone. Gee! its lonesome. Incidentally Carole has asked me to celebrate New Year eve with her and stay all night with her in case she is still wound-up, we will paint the town red, however my first choice would be Nashville. I know you will have your hands full with everything and a place to hand our hats- you know anything that isn't too high then we can always look later.
Yes Milan we got a lot of lovely things many Ralden has been trying to tell me I should pick out my crystal which would give something for people to get, even something later for gift at Christmas. I almost tempted Mary has been informed there is a new shipment of crystal coming in if nothing but gotten for gifts. Maryln got hers that way.
I found the marriage certificate here. Ray hadn't even signed it I kept it couple days trying to think what I should do. I wanted to send it to you thinking you would see Ray, but Dad insisted I send it to Manhattan. I am a little afraid he won't bring back home too soon. I also sent the envelope and stamp so he can mail it to the probate judge.
Our calf came a little while ago. It's a heifer (nice) Dad's had it in the basement to warm it up. It's cute. A jersey and jersey dux mixture.
I have gotten all the pictures dime store and walgreens- only one picture came out of the wedding. I'm sending you them all except one of you I'm keeping until another comes it is very good. What do you think of the dime store ones I don't, to get prints which would be larger its 6 for $2.95 or 3 for 1.50. That to me is too much for the pictures.
I feel by writing would be best Don't you think? I am sending all the pictures to you. If you don't want all the dime store send them back but the snapshots I am getting more.
Ardis just called he informed me she wants to give me a shower Wednesday night. I had planned to go out to the folks. If i could get hold of them. Thursday I get the announcements- so you can imagine what I'll be doing. Tonight I got over to Carole's and Ardis will be there Monday Vera, Bob, Grandma and the folks are having dinner together. Tuesday Mary Alden wants to see me at Grandma. Wed. the shower (I am a little disappointed because it's personal) it would have been nice to have something for our home. I told Mother they might include you, Milan, in the personal shower because I have every thing I need along that line.
I shall draw this to a close with Loads of love darling- hoping it won't be long until we are together
Your wife
P.S. We got a lot of lovely things. Am still promising myself to send you a list. Oh yes the Bass family gave us a beautiful flower vase with stand about 6" its white lined with rose colored glass. Lovely piece.
