November 24, 1944

Dear Milan,

I was surely glad to hear from you today. Being Thanksgiving no mail being delivered wasn't so good, for each day and each each letter has something nice in store. For it is getting that much closer to the time you will be home. Let's see your present plans will get you into Topeka Wednesday evening instead of Tuesday. You know, Milan, I was surprised to hear you plan to call me as soon as you get in for I thought you would want to be with your folks the first evening. I will be expecting a ring Wed. evening then; however you know I have heck of a time getting this line, you see we have some kids on the line that play on the phone. So in case it is busy you might call Grandma 21371. Or in case you come in during the day and want to give me a ring before going home the number at work is 32391 (ext. 21).

You know if I had some idea which train you will come on (station, I mean) I could call and find out the time from K.C. I might miss you, though. Our family always makes an effort to meet anyone at the station that comes in and I can't get it out of my blood or something. I love to meet trains and better still ride them ha! ha!

You have no idea how much I enjoy your letters. The other day I got them all out and re-read them. They were so interesting, just like an interesting story.

Am trying to concentrate on the letter and hearing "people are funny". It's crazy what takes place in Hollywood.

Sounds as though you could be an excellent husband with all that practicable experience and be a good nurse maid some day in a pinch even to cooking.

Yesterday- Thanksgiving, we worked as usual, then had supper at the Penant, then a show seeing "Two Girls and a Sailor" cute.

The folks told me they had a nice visit with your folks at the farm bureau dinner. I do hope I can meet them while you are here. I didn't know young people went. When the folks got home [they told me] Vivian Gipple, Carole, West Delp, your brother and a few other young people were there and they danced and even square danced too. I would have gone in a minute for I love to dance. Do you? Square is fun too.

Have been working on a wool aqua dress trimmed in brown velvet the past several evenings. Hoping to finish it before you come; just one of my creations.

Must draw this to a close now for I'm falling asleep- pleasant dreams Milan.

With love,
Kathleen

P.S. When you get this, you will be there less then a week before coming home huh! Time is drawing close.
