January 14 1945

Dearest Hubby,

Just a note to let you know, I'm thinking of you dear- I wonder what you are doing today- Sunday, just thinking by next week at this time we will be together. That will be wonderful.

Mother and I have been packing all morning. Grandma ask us into dinner- then we will go back and pack some more.

Honday, don't look for your things by express for I'm bringing them.

I picked some up on Thursday then they left some more- it just as easy to bring them along with the rest, its no burden at all. Dear, as I pack I can't get it done fast enough to get on my way. I will be leaving Monday at 6 PM. Milan in case I don't get in on schedule you will understand- you know one of my pal friend brother and wife come home from Conn. They were delayed 6 hours from Phil. to Chicago because of snow and I'm going to be even north of that. I'll make it. Why couldn't I just give you a ring it's a "cinch". I hate to [have] you waiting at the depot a long time I'll send a telegram Tues even. though. But I want you to know I won't feel bad if you are not at the station, in fact I don't see how you could.

A room sounds OK to me in fact maybe that is best until just what we want shows up. Gee! I don't care where we live, just so I'm with you. I'm in a flutter too darling. That too bad about your cold. I'll do my best to help you get rid of it, darling when I get there.

Bye for now, I must return home again back to the packing.

Loads of love and kisses
Your wife

Kathleen

P.S. Oh yes we hear that Margaret is in NY with Ray
