Sunday evening after you called

Dearest Milan,

Oh darling I'm all in a flutter- never dreaming it would come this soon. I am going into the employment office Monday AM and find out the details and then will write you my outcome- you see it means a lot just to transfer by what I've talked with others I will be assured a job also one step higher then the beginner. Which after all tends to give a person a better job then just terminating in civil service starting a new.

Oh darling I am practically ready. Your voice sounded so good. I never really thought you were there in NY already so soon. I could be ready my self to start earlier but you know they say not to travel on the week-ends.

I haven't found an iron as yet but still have hopes. I'm only bring[ing] my trunk and radio that is all. What I don't get in there I won't bring. I am stopping in Chicago to do that shopping, it's important will start in the even[ing] Tuesday Jan 16th get to Chicago in the morning and out sometime that evening is that OK? I should be there in Plattsburg Friday or may Thursday evening will get my ticket and all Wed. and tell you when you can expect me.

Mother is asking just now do you suppose I should have the sheet blankets instead of sheets. How about it darling? You know like your mother uses I don't have any but that doesn't say I can't get them. It isn't a very large town so it may be a little hard to get the necessities.

Oh Gee! I am so very happy I can't wait until I'm on the train coming.

Now if anything comes up that you feel doubtful about me coming at this time just say so I'll understand. This army is subject to changes. It's just the beginning of such. I'll love it though.

Nighty-night I'll be seeing you in my dreams

Loads of loves and kisses
Your wife
Kathleen
